Maude J. Harris

Maude J. Harris, a lifelong resident of Calhoun, TN, passed away January 7, 2009, in a local hospital. She was born March 19, 1918. She was a member of the Calhoun United Methodist Church and the Walker Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh (Bud) and Mattie Mantooth; four sisters, Buelah Bacon, Nannie Lee Hale, Evelyn Thomas and Ruby Stevison; son in law, Eddie Wilson.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Guy Harris, Calhoun, TN, son, Charles and wife, Jean, of Calhoun, GA, two daughters, Vickie and husband, Cliff, McCamish of Riceville and Judy Harris Wilson of Cleveland. Five grandchildren, grandsons, Tim Harris and Brian Harris of Calhoun, GA, Dale Wilson of Charleston; grandaughters, Stephanie McCamish of Riceville, TN and Ginger Wilson-Buchanan of Cleveland, TN. Seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. One special niece, Sue Ledford, Cleveland, TN.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 9, 2009, at 8:00 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Pastor Pat Bishop and Pastor Hugh Bryan officiating. Interment will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Walter Barham, Gary Barham, Hugh Bryan, Lynn Freeman, Dale Wilson and Gene Carmichael serving as pallbearers.
