Wayne Harris

Wayne Harris, age 56, resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010, at his residence after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Saltville, Virginia, and moved to Cleveland in 1973. He worked for Olin Chemical for 32 years, where he made many friends and was known as a practical jokester . Wayne was an outdoorsman, spending many hours enjoying fishing and playing with his grandchildren. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. R. and Margaret Harris and brothers, Mark, Barry and Eugene Harris.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Janet Helton Harris, son and daughter in law, Shane and Stephanie, daughter and son in law, Leslie Harris Phillips and Patton, grandchildren, Kendall and Kamden Harris and Conner Phillips. Sisters, Betty Louthian, Kettering, Ohio, Shirley Walls, Saltville, VA, brother, Larry Harris, Charlotte, North Carolina. Special brother in law and friend, Bill Helton and very special sister in law and care giver, Robin Weaver. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A private interment will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 02, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church on Ocoee Street in Cleveland.
