Donald R. Hegwood

Donald R. Hegwood, age 64, resident of Cleveland. He was employed by Ed Kirby Chevrolet in Chattanooga and Dalton for 35 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the U. S. Army. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by mother, Leola Hegwood and father, Johnny Hegwood. Two brothers, Eugene Hegwood and Monroe Hegwood. One niece, Penny Hegwood.

Survived by his wife, Mildred Midge Hegwood, Cleveland, TN, three daughters, Lisa Hogue, LaFayette, GA, Jennifer Clevenger, Tunnel Hill, GA and Rebecca Hilliard, Cleveland, TN; three sons, Donnie Hegwood, LaFayette, GA, Ricky King, Cleveland, TN and Jeffery King, Cleveland, TN; 10 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. 1 sister, Debbie Edgemon, LaFayette, GA; one brother, Wayne Hegwood, Trion, Georgia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. C. L. Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Hill Cemetery with Jonathan Hilliard, Steve Clevenger, Scott Hegwood, Jeffery King, Timothy Lambert and Ricky Hegwood serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
