Dr. Jane Bingham Henry, age 58 years old, resident of Cleveland, TN, died Thursday evening, May 24, 2007 in a Cleveland hospital. Jane recently completed her PhD in Womens Studies at UT-Knoxville. She was instrumental in starting the Magdalene Project of Nashville, TN. She also worked as an engineer for Bell South and Smith and Nephew, Richards of Memphis. In her early years, Jane taught in the public school systems of Mississippi and North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. George D. Bingham and her nephew, Matthew Bingham.
She is survived by her husband, Reverend Andrew L. Henry, Cleveland, TN; daughters, and sons in law, Beth and Curtis Angeline of Kentucky and Sara and Kevin Thomas of Georgia, her mother, Janette G. Bingham, her sister, Rebecca B. Norwood (Reed) of Tennessee and brother, George D. Bingham, Jr. (Ruth) of Florida. Jane also leaves two grandchildren, Lily and Fox Angeline. Nieces and nephews are Sarah, Bobby and Janette Norwood and Jenna and Emily Bingham, Emily Gholson, Nathan Crawford, Eric and Jamie Claire Henry.
Service of Death and Resurrection will be held Sunday, May 27, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Andy Ferguson and Rev. Lu Crandall officiating. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Highland Memorial Park in Knoxville, Tennessee.
