Eugene H. Howard

Eugene Harold Howard, age 83, resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010, at his residence. A native of Jasper, TN, he was a resident of Cleveland for the past 19 years. He retired from Signal Mountain Cement after 23 years of service. He was a Methodist faith. He was a veteran of World War II and served his country in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Sitz Howard; parents, Earl McReynolds Howard and Nannie Swafford Howard; brothers, Carl W. and Bobby S. Howard.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma McKinney Howard, Cleveland; 2 sisters, Martha Jo Turner of Jasper and Billie Macy and her husband, George of Bushnell, Florida.; sister in law, Charlotte Howard of Jasper, TN; 2 nieces, Crystal Howard Thomason and Nanette Brock; 3 nephews, Matthew Howard, Johnny Turner and Rick Howard; one great niece. 2 step sons, Blake McKinney of Cleveland and Jeff McKinney of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; 3 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. Central Standard Time (C.S.T.) in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN with Rev. Glenn Clowers officiating. Matthew Howard, Rick Howard, Johnny Turner, Bill Herron, Jack Herron and John Swafford serving as pallbearers.
