Jack LaBraun Howard, 78, a life-long resident of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, July 15th, 2010 in a local Cleveland hospital. Mr. Howard was a graduate of the class of 1949 from Bradley High School and a proud member of the 49ers Club. Mr. Howard served his country honorably in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He was member of First Lutheran Church. He retired from Bowater in 1994 as the Supervisor of the Finishing & Shipping Dept. He was preceded in his death by his parents John & Farrell Howard and his son, Brian Howard as well as his infant brother JD and infant sister, Jennie Lou Howard. Jack is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Juanita Howard and their children, Rhonda Webb and her husband Chris of Cleveland, Brent Howard and his wife, Kathleen of Fairfax Station, VA and Keith Howard and his wife Melissa of San Antonio, TX. He was also survived by his three sisters, Oneida Howard and Joyce Mary Howard, both of Cleveland and Jean Bedingfield and her husband Lindsey of Lake City, FL. Mr. Howard had 8 grandchildren, Jill, Amanda, Brandon, Maranda, Justin, Tyler, Hunter and Paige, and 7 great grandchildren, Chasity, Christine, Austin, Kevin, Micah, Brooke, Braden; and two nephews, Ralph Bedingfield and his wife Lori and their daughter Ellie, of Jacksonville, FL, and Richard Bedingfield of Atlanta, GA.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Harry Smith officiating. Interment will be held privately.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at First Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church columbarium. You may send online condolences to www.grissomfh.net. For additional information, phone 476-8575.
