Mabel Delvina Howard, age 87, resident of Cleveland, TN, died Friday afternoon, February 26, 2010, in a local health care facility after suffering a major stroke. A life long resident of Bradley County, she was a homemaker and a member of Big Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, John and Emma Cole Howard, three brothers, Monroe Howard, Pinkney Howard and Rev. M. L. Howard, two sisters, Zola Messer and Zelpha Howard.
She is survived by three nephews, Lee Roy Howard, J. D. Howard and Earl Messer; one niece, Dorothy Huskey Epperson. Several great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 1, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. George Bulson and Rev. Lee Roy Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Candies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Grissom Funeral Home who has charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.grissomfh.net
