William (Bill) Edker James, 63, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, December 25, 2006 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was employed with MGM-LLC for 13 years as a medical gas technician. He was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God and the Breaking Through Sunday School Class. He was an active part of the Encounter Group and the Emmaus Community. He served as greeter at the church and was a facilitator for a cell group in his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Roy James and Rosa Pearl Ethridge; and one sister, Nancy Jean James.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth R. James of Cleveland; one son and daughter in law, Matthew and Mickie James of Cleveland; one daughter and son in law, Kami and Greg Loe of Chico, California; three stepsons, Jamie Jackson of Spring City, TN, David Jackson and Jeff Jackson, both of Johnson City, TN; one brother, Fred L. James of Meridian, Miss.; two sisters, Charlene Truelove and husband Roy of McRae, GA and Lawana James of Meridian, Miss.; five grandchildren, Christian Loe, Amanda Loe, Katie James, Cameron James, and Lindsey James.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of North Cleveland Church of God with Pastor Mitch Maloney, Rev. Oliver McMahan, Pastor Gary Sears and Pastor Robert Sheppard officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the Breaking Through Sunday School Class and the North Cleveland cell group that met at the James Home.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 11-2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
