Carl Thomas Jones

Carl Thomas Jones, Yogi Bear , age 78, resident of Cleveland, beloved husband and father, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2008, in a local hospital. He was a lifelong CB radio enthusiast and talented musician. He was loved and sadly will be missed by many. He most recently entertained many with his musical talents at the Senior Center here in Cleveland. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Dallas D. Jones and Josephine Miller Jones; sisters, Ressie Wade and Maggie Wade brother, Dallas Jones and one son in law, Doug Wade.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary Ellen Jones, sisters, Viola Miller and Pearl Jones, daughter, Carlotta Wade, son and daughter in law, Steve and Rhonda Jones, daughter and son in law, Ruth and Roy Blackwell, daughter and son in law, Lisa Jones and Tracy Hall; grandchildren, Shelby Ownbey, Derick Jones, Robin Kittell, Whitney Ruth, Deana Morgan, Jeana Belcher, Stephanie Jones, Brandi Blackwell, Karen Blackwell, Dakota Leamon and Dallas Leamon. Sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 31, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Thornton officiating. Interment will follow in Michigan Ave. Baptist Church Cemetery with Tracy Hall, Dakota Leamon, Dallas Leamon, Charles Miller, Don Wade, Chuck Kittell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Miller and Michael Brock.

The family requests memorials be made to the Michigan Ave. Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 30, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Grissom Funeral Home who has charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.grissomfh.net
