Mike (Lefty) Lefler, age 51, resident of Cleveland, TN, went home to be with his Lord on Monday morning, December 31, 2007. He passed away at his residence with his loving family by his side. Mike was employed as sales manager with Larry Hill Ford in Cleveland. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Church of God where he was very active in the youth department and served as a youth leader with L H20 (Living Water) Student Ministries. He was talented musician and especially enjoyed playing the drums.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Ginnie) Lefler, Cleveland; one son, Wayne Newkirk, East Freedom, PA, two daughters, Kayla Newkirk, Cleveland and Michelle Hess, Everette, PA; mother, Millie Lefler Reach, Cumberland, MD; two sisters, Carole Bates, Cumberland, MD and Sha-Ron McQueen, South Carolina and one brother, Keith Roach, Cumberland, MD; four grandchildren, uncles and aunts and nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of the Life and Home Going of Mike Lefler will be held Thursday, January 3, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Church of God with Pastor Gary Sears officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Jessey Romines, Mario Longoria, Kevin Dowdy, Wayne Newkirk, Tony Roy and Stefan Dover serving as pallbearers. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 2, 2007, from 2-4 p.m and 7-9 p.m. at the Grissom Funeral Home who has charge of arrangements. You may send condolences online to www.grissomfh.net
