Drummer Dave has left the house. David Michael Lukaszewski has been called to play in the Heavenly Band. He passed away Monday, February 8, 2010, at his residence. David was a member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church, an avid musician and a member of the Musicians Union. He was a drummer for numerous bands for the past 45 years and was currently the drummer for the Truck N band. He was also employed a sales rep for Coleman Tool and Manufacturing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Iva Mae Lukaszewski; one daughter, Judy and one brother, Leon.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon A. Lukaszewski, three daughters, Sheri and Heather all of Cleveland and Edwina of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; one son, Jayson of Kenosha, Wisconsin; one sister, JoAnn Goodness, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; 6 grandchildren, Robyn, Cheyenne, Christopher, Zachary, Christian and Brittney. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of the Life and Home Going of David Lukaszewski will be held Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Grissom Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Boydston Cemetery in Tiftonia.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made for the "Drummer Dave L" scholarship fund for aspiring musicians at Asumption high school, Daves Alma mater. The scholarship fund has been set up at Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 12, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.grissomfh.net
