Louis Maroon, also known to fellow truck drivers as Mr. Smiley, 76, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, August 28, 2006 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church. He was a truck driver for over 40 years and a self-employed farmer in the Black Fox/Lebanon community. He was a member of the Cleveland Masonic Lodge #134. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wylene Nease Maroon; parents, Frank and Anna Belle Eslinger Maroon; and one sister, Mildred Delashmitt.

Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, Steve and Denise Maroon of Cleveland and Michael and Faye Maroon of Athens, TN; one brother, Ernest Maroon and his wife, Alice of Cleveland; one sister, Belle Jones of Cleveland; four grandchildren Amber Womac and her husband Daniel, Mandy Maroon, Anthony Maroon, and Christopher Maroon; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Dylan Womac; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Pete Mullins officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Anthony Maroon, Christopher Maroon, George Gates, David Higgins, Kendall Maroon and Jerry Maroon serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew and Dylan Womac.
