Loucille Farner McAlister, age 85, resident of Cleveland, TN, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, in a local hospital. A native of Polk County, former resident of McMinn County and current resident of Bradley County, she was the daughter of the late Ike and Della Mae Jack Farner. She was a member of the Clingan Ridge Baptist Church. She was retired from Duracell Battery. She had also worked at Shoneys, Ryans and Goodys. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Geneva Underdown and Elizabeth Dixon and two brothers, Kenneth and Harold Dean Farner.
She is survived by two daughters and one son in law, Jessie and Willis Bowers, Etowah, TN, Phyllis Tipton, Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren, Preston Tipton, Patti Strader and husband, Gary, Knoxville, TN, Pam Howerton and husband, Brent, Knoxville, TN, Delbert Bowers and wife, Amanda, California, Kathy Richardson and husband, Aaron, Nashville, TN, two great granddaughters, Hannah Bell and Ava Howerton both of Knoxville; two sisters, Zephina Rustie Dipierro, Ohio, and Nancy Wilcox, Chattanooga, TN; three brothers and one sister in law, Clarence Bud Farmer, Athens, TN, Glenn Farner, Benton, TN and Frank and Helen Farner, Athens, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at 8:30 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Vaughn officiating. Interment will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
