Richard Nye

Richard H. Nye, age 86, resident of Cleveland, TN, died Thursday, February 26, 2009, and has joined the Church Triumphant! Mr. Nye was born in Tiffin, Ohio on January 8, 1923. He married Margaret (Proffitt) Nye in Detroit, Michigan on February 25, 1950. He was a member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. He was formerly employed with Bishop Bakery in Cleveland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marie Nye and four brothers, Robert, Raymond, Charles and Eldon Nye and sisters, Marie Runion and Louise Angene.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret Nye, Cleveland; two sons and their families, Jerry Richard Nye and wife, Judy, who has two sons, Brandon and Zachary of Charleston, TN and adopted grandson, Jackson Tyler Nye of Cleveland, TN; son, Keith Alan Nye and his daughters, Victoria (Tori) and Kathryne (Katy) of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Smith officiating. Interment will be held Sunday, March 1, 2009, in Niota Cemetery, Niota, Tennessee. The family request memorials be made to the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church c/o India Missions.
