Curtis C. Overall

Curtis C. Overall, age 56, resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2007, in a local hospital. He was retired from Tennessee Valley Authority where he worked as a plant specialist. He was a member of the Parkway Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN. He loved to hunt and fish and he had a real passion for astronomy. Curtis never meant a stranger and he was loved by all who knew him. He will be remembered most for his great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence E. Overall and Elizabeth Wilson Overall and sister in law, Sherry Oxford.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Overall, Cleveland, TN; two sons, David Overall, Knoxville, TN and Joey Overall, Cleveland, TN; one daughter and son in law, Amanda and Josh Nix, Cleveland, TN; one very special granddaughter, Kyleigh Nix, Cleveland, TN; one brother and sister in law, Steven and Lynne Overall, Lenexa, Kansas; half sister, Linda Danneman, and half brother, John Gower both of California. Two sisters in law and their spouses, Angela and David Hasbrouck, Memphis, TN and Mitzi and Bobby Walton, Columbus, GA. Nieces and nephews, Jennifer Potts, Robert Walton and Scott and Brooke Overall. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Mendel officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jason and Darek Szpur, David Hasbrouck, Travis Freeman, Austin Williams, Corey Overby, Clay Grigsby and Josh Nix serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Johnson, and J. J. Oxford, III. The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Assn.
