Born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Bessie and Arden Alder on December 9, 1920, Lorraine married Luther Edward Painter on April 22, 1938, and joined her husband in his ministry soon after. Family and friends will remember Mrs. Painter with a book by her side or a crochet hook in her hand. When asked what she most enjoyed doing, Mrs. Painters face would light up as she said, I love to read. She was a long time patron of the Cleveland Public Library.
