Clarence Kinky R. Pendergrass, 60, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, August 28, 2006 in a local hospital. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a brick mason for 30 years. He was a loving husband, father and Papaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Lela Virginia Stokes Pendergrass; three sisters, Irene Clayton, Anna Mae Staton, Betty Pendergrass; and three brothers, Luther Doyle Pendergrass, Billy Pendergrass, and Johnny Pendergrass.
Survivors include his wife, Iva Dean Pendergrass of Cleveland; one son, Clarence Ray Pendergrass II and his wife April of Cleveland; two daughters, Iva Renea Wheeler and husband Doug and Tammy Stokes and husband Michael, all of Cleveland; four brothers and sisters in law, Butch and Retha Pendergrass, Gordon Pendergrass, Jr., Bobby and Reba Pendergrass, and Jody and Denise Pendergrass, all of Cleveland; one sister and brother in law, Margie and Leroy Blackwell of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Courtney Stokes, Amy Wheeler, Casey Stokes, Kristen Wheeler, Austin Stokes, and Madalynn Pendergrass; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Reverend David Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
