Hoyt H. Queen, age 77, resident of Cleveland, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday morning, February 16, 2009. He passed away in a local healthcare facility. He was a charter member of Faith Memorial Church. He served his church as administrator and was hand chosen by the late Rev. M. E. Littlefield, founder of Faith Memorial Church, to serve as outreach minister and direct programs such as Feed the People and making sure that little children all had toys at Christmas time. During his tenure at Faith Memorial, Hoyt helped tens of thousands of individuals thru the ministry of the church and truly fulfilled the great call of the Lord when He said, If you have done it unto the least of these, you have done it unto Me. He was a founding board member of the Cleveland Emergency Shelter, which was founded by Rev. Littlefield, and was an organizing member of Gods Sonbeams at Faith Memorial and served as song leader, music minister and youth pastor at the church. He was very instrumental in helping to start Clevelands first bus ministry at Faith Memorial, as well as he served the Cleveland City School system as a bus driver for 15 years. He will truly be missed by his immediate family, church family and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Queen and two sons, Kenneth Queen and Gary Queen He is survived by his loving daughter and son in law, Vicky and Dennis Grizzle, Cleveland and one special grandson, Matthew Grizzle, two brothers, Joe Queen and Rev. Paul Queen both of Cleveland and three sisters, Othella Trim, Atlanta, GA, Stella Evans, Chicago, Illinois and Helen Jones, Deleware; his Godson, Steve Hartline, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, Cleveland and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of the life and homegoing of Hoyt Queen will be held Thursday, February 19, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. at Faith Memorial Church with Pastor David Riggs, Rev. Paul Queen, Mayor Tom Rowland and Steve Hartline, Jr. officiating.
Interment will be held Friday, February 20, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Ft. Hill Cemetery with Earl Moats, John Hutchins, Mike Campbell, Terry Posey, Henry Baldwin, Jack McCarty serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Runion, J. D. Evans, and Larry Taylor.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
