Duane Roof

Elton Duane Roof, age 63, resident of Charleston, TN, passed away Tuesday morning, December 16, 2008, at his residence. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Cleveland. He was a journeyman electrician and he was retired from Cleveland State Community College and the I.B.E.W. in Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Stephens Stone Roof, parents, Homer E. Roof and Evalena Geddings Roof, one sisters, Christine Roof Dearman and brother, Manuel Roof, Jr.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Kim Thoman, Columbia, South Carolina and Erin Roof, Scottsboro, AL; two grandchildren, Gillian Gates and Annie Gates, Columbia, South Carolina and two great grandchildren, Tony and Avery; one brother, Gary Roof, Columbia, South Carolina and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 19, 2008, at 8:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert Seaton officiating. Interment will be held later in Columbia, South Carolina at Lybrand Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 " 8 p.m. at the church.
