Virginia Louise Rupert, age 79, resident of Cleveland, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 17, 2008. She passed away at her residence with her loving family by her side. She had been a member of the Church of God for many years and will be remembered as a woman who walked with God in faith and humility. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She was loved by all who knew her. She was born in Knoxville, TN to the late John and Edna Yarberry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Rupert, Sr., one son, John T. Rupert, one granddaughter, Julie N. Rupert, a brother, Joe Yarberry and four sisters, Jessie Ensor, Edith Sutherland, Mary Bacher and Loretta Lane.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, James E. Rupert, Jr. and Lynda of Cleveland and W. Stanley Rupert and Kelly of Farmington Hills, Michigan; four grandsons, Jeffrey T. Rupert and John B. Rupert of Cleveland and Mark A. Rupert of Flat Rock, MI and W. Jacob Rupert of Farmington Hills, MI; three great grandsons, Mark A. Rupert, Jr., and J. Brandon Rupert of Flat Rock, MI and Shon Rupert of Cleveland, TN; one great granddaughter, Lorelai Rupert, Flat Rock, Michigan; one brother and his wife, William and Eileen Yarberry; sister in law and brother in law, Rev. and Mrs. (Sue) William C. Meyers and several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of the Life of Virginia Rupert will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Charles White officiating. Interment will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville, TN with Jeffrey Rupert, John Rupert, Shon Rupert, David Lane, J. Wayne Walston and Barry Meyers serving as pallbearers.
