Linda Sample

Linda Sample, 57, a resident of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, Tuesday, May 4 2010.

She joined her husband (Mike Sample) of 34 years in Heaven on his birthday. She was also preceded in death by her father Don C. Simpson, granddaughter Olivia K. Sample, and daughter- in-law Anita Sample.

She was attending Mount Olive Ministries. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She devoted her life to helping children. Throughout her life, she worked at numerous schools and daycares including TCA and Cleveland City Schools. She was also involved in Girl Scouts. She will fondly be remembered as the Neighborhood Mom and greatly missed by the lives that she touched.

Survivors include her mother Edith Simpson of Clinton, TN, her children Christopher Sample and Amy Sample of Cleveland, TN., Tavi Price and husband Kerry of Henagar AL., five grandchildren Hayley Bradshaw, Elizabeth Beth Sample, Landon Price, Sarah Scroggins, and Padon Price, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by eleven siblings: Von Simpson, Bill Simpson, Donna Broach, Patsy Yarber, Dwight Simpson, John Simpson, Joyce Simpson, Don Simpson, James Simpson, Charles Simpson, and Bertie Terwilliger.

The Family will receive friends at Grissom Funeral Home on Friday, May 7, from 5PM until 9PM and one hour prior to the service at the church.

There will be a Remembrance of Life Service Saturday, May 8, at Mount Olive Ministry with Pastor Gary Sears officiating at 11AM. Internment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville at 2PM following the funeral. Her brothers will serve as pallbearers.
