Larry Sells, age 63, resident of Ocoee, Tennessee, passed away Thursday evening, October 12, 2006, in a local hospital. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. He was retired from the City of Cleveland as an environmentalist. Larry was a sports official for 41 years. He was a sports coach for several schools in the Bradley County School System. He worked many football state championship games and numerous National softball tournaments. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Gwendolyn Cassada Sells and Robert B. Sells. Larry will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Manon Sells of Ocoee, TN, two sons and daughters in law, James Bland and Holly Sells, Chattanooga, TN and Joseph Brett and Alesha Sells, Cleveland, TN. One aunt, Joann Million, Philomath, Oregon, Step mother, Sue Sells, Nashville, TN and four cousins. His mother in law, Waunetta Ledford, Ocoee, TN and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 15, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Kensel Hooker and Minister Paul Cagle officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Larrys Football Crew , Glenn Curtis, Joe Wilson, Mark Smith, Robbie Casteel and Jim Woody, his two sons, Jim and Joe and Chad Gunter, Daniel Sink and Matt Lipps all serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Tri County Football officials, Athens Basketball officials and Bradley County Umpires.
The family requests memorials please be made to the Shiloh Baptist Church Building Fund or the Beech Springs Baptist Church.
