Bobby R. Shaver

September 26, 1931 — November 28, 2007

Bobby R. Shaver, age 76, resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away Wednesday morning, November 28, 2007, at his residence. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. A native of Salisbury, North Carolina, he worked at the Salisbury Post delivering newspapers from age 13 thru College. In Cleveland, he was employed as an accountant for 13 years with Brown Stove Works and also at Sather Candy Company in Chattanooga for 15 years. The last few years he was self employed as owner of a Trucking Company before his retirement in 1996. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he worked for the U.S. Army Audit Agency at the TNT Plant. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Frank Shaver and Maggie Nola Burrage Shaver.

He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte G. Shaver, Cleveland, TN; one daughter, Sherry D. Shaver, Chattanooga, TN and one grand dog, Scarlet . Several nieces and nephews also survived.

A Celebration of the Life and Home Going of Mr. Shaver will be held Sunday, December 2, 2007, at 4:00 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Andrew Henry, Senior Pastor, First United Methodist Church and Rev. Tim Paul officiating. Interment will be held Monday, December 3, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors. Gerald Adams, Randy Carroll, Joel Patterson, Gary Ashburn, Frank Calfee, Ken Webster, Buddy Simpkins and Brad Benton will serve as pallbearers.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the First United Methodist Church or St. Judes Childrens Research.

The family will receive friends Sunday, December 2, 2007, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Grissom Funeral Home. You may send online condolences to www.grissomfh.net
