Edna Shirley

Edna Tillery Shirley, age 95, resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009, in a local health care facility. She retired from Magic Chef after many years of service. She was the oldest member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the United Sunday School Class, Joy Club and Mildred Brown Circle of the Cumberland Presbyterian Womens Ministry, (CPW). She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Icie Hooper Tillery, sister, Thelma Cress, husbands, Joe McSpadden and Cecil Shirley.

Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Linda and Luther King of Chatsworth, GA, step sons, Fred Shirley and Tom Shirley and granddaughter, Shelley King, Lebanon, TN, nephews, Kenneth Cress, Cleveland, Mike Cress, Charleston, SC., nieces, Eloise Swafford and Karen Keirsey of Cleveland; several great nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 10, 2009, at 12:00 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Hudson officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
