Melody B. Nelson Stamey

Melody B. Nelson Stamey, age 34, was born January 21, 1974. She passed away on September 5, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. Her race is over here on earth. She is now safe in His arms at last resting in Jesus. She has ceased from her struggle. She was a 1992 graduate of Cleveland High School and served two years in the U. S. Army. She was a talented musician and singer. She was preceded in death by her maternal mamaw, Anna M. Harbison Cornett, formerly of Rossville, GA, Her paternal mamaw, Pearl Reid Nelson and paternal papaw, Elisha H. Nelson, both formerly of Turtletown, TN. Also several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is survived by her three children, Kyle Sompolinsky, age 14, Haley Sompolinsky, age 13 and Lenin Sompolinsky, age 9. Also her parents, Ken and Connie Nelson, all of Cleveland, TN; one sister and brother-in-law, Denise L. and Milton L. Hooper of Warner Robins, GA, one brother, Allen Darryl Nelson of Miami, FL, two nephews, Matthew Nelson, age 15 and Andrew Nelson, age 12, her maternal papaw, William T. Cornett, Sr. of Lafayette, GA. Also many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Saturday, September 13, 2008, at Grissom Funeral Home located at 3010 N. Ocoee Street, Cleveland, TN. Funeral at 3:00 p.m. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
