Joyce Dean Steele

Joyce Dean Steele, 71, a resident of Cleveland, passed away this morning, Tuesday, October 16, 2007 in a Chattanooga hospital after courageously battling a lengthy illness. She was known and deeply loved by many. She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Rogers, Sr. and mother, Laura Ann Rogers Rhodes; brother, Lloyd Rogers, Jr.; sisters, Pauline Polly Foster and Willie Marie Woody; nephews, Jackie L. Foster and Jason Evans; and father and mother-in-law, Floyd and Lennie Steele.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Hubert D. Hootie Steele; son, Greg Steele; daughter, Lorie Ann Trentham; grandsons, Tate Trentham and Grant Steele; granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth Steele; one very special sister, Elizabeth Allen; several special nephews and a special niece; sisters-in-law, Linda K. Blakely and Betty Stonecipher; and brother-in-law, Arvil Steele.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Grissom Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Billy Trentham, Chris Rymer, Alton Rogers, Darrell Rogers, Randy Doc Rogers, and Johnny Evans serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
