James C. Stinnett, 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday evening, October 4, 2006 in a local healthcare facility. He attended Washington Avenue Baptist Church. He retired from Brown Stove Works as an inspector after 44 years where he was affectionately known as Romey . He was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert and Lavada Stallings Stinnett; one grandson, Brian Stinnett; one granddaughter in law, Amy Pigg; one brother, Bill Stinnett and one sister, Roxie Roberts.

Survivors include his wife, Cricket West Stinnett of Cleveland; one son and daughter in law, Larry and Jimmie Lou Stinnett of Cleveland; and one daughter and son in law, Brenda and Steve Pigg of Cleveland; one sister, Dorothy Stinnett of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Mike Pigg and wife Donida of Cleveland, and Scott Pigg of Salt Lake City; four great grandchildren, Jonathon Pigg, Matthew Pigg, Taylor McIntyre and Tory McIntyre.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Beecher White, Rev. Wayne Chelette, and Rev. Frank Nolen officiating. Interment will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bradley Healthcare and Rehab., 2910 Peerless Road, Cleveland, TN 37312.

The family will receive friends Friday from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
