Martha Dean Swafford

Martha Dean Swafford, age 79, resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away Monday, October 27, 2008, in a local hospital. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Center Point Baptist Church where she was very active in the singing ministry. She was employed with Bendix for 17 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Coleman and Ethel Lee Haney Coleman, one granddaughter, Tara Hooper, two brothers, Jimmy Coleman and Wayne Coleman, one sister, Billie Hysinger.

She is survived by her loving husband, David Swafford, Cleveland, TN, two daughters, Judy Swafford Walker, and husband, Bobby, Murphy, North Carolina and Renee Murphy, Cleveland, TN, one brother, Ronald Coleman, and wife, Bonnie, Cleveland and one sister, Peggy Brooks, Cleveland, TN; three grandchildren, Robin Bowling, Toshia Worley and Stephanie Withrow; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 30, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jimmy Caywood officiating. Brian Bowling, Mikey Worley, Matt Withrow, Freddie Coleman, Johnnie Coleman and Bobby Coleman will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 29, 2008, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Grissom Funeral Home who has charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.grissomfh.net
