Lonnie D. Sweeton

Lonnie D. Sweeton, age 77, resident of Charleston, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 1, 2009. He passed away in a local hospital with his loving family by his side. He was formerly employed with Cleveland Chair Company. He was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Riceville, TN. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid outdoorsman and he loved to fish and hunt. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olline Sweeton and parents, Clint and Edith Sweeton, 2 brothers and one sister also preceded in death.

He is survived by his children, three sons, Terry Sweeton, Athens, TN and Gary and Daniel Sweeton and daughter, Angela Climer all of Cleveland, TN; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Hilltop Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Russell and Rev. John Bivens officiating. Interment will follow in Hilltop Baptist Church Cemetery with Steven and Matthew Christman, Houston and Josh Anderson, J. R. Colloms and Bill Nichols serving as pallbearers. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 3, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Grissom Funeral Home who has charge of funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.grissomfh.net
