E Neil Taylor

E. Neil Taylor, age 63, resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2007, in a local hospital. He was a member of the Mountain View Church of God. He was a drywall finisher by trade. The last several years he worked with his cousins and friends, Gary and Sonny Jones of J & J Drywall and Donna. Prior to that he worked with friends, Jerry and Zach Wright. He worked with his special friend, Paul Galloway, for many years. Neil was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Franklin Taylor, mother, Genevia Atkins Taylor Payne and step father, Raymond Payne. Grandparents, M. C. and Della Atkins all of Deer Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene McNabb Taylor, Cleveland; children, Jimmy and Kristy Taylor of Sunbright, Jacquelyn and Tommy Yarber of Knoxville, TN; step children, Tracy Hellsten of Palmetto, FL, Tom Weber of Savannah, GA, grandchildren, Jacob Taylor, Aaron Barnes, Dylan and Katelyn Ashburn of Sunbright,TN, David and Ashley, T. J. and Stacey of Palmetto, FL; brother, David Payne, Wartburg, TN, sisters, Phyllis and Ronnie Thomas, Cleveland, Debbie Thomas, Wartburg, TN, Judith Payne, Oliver Springs, TN, Dee Dee and Claude Abston of Crossville, TN. Special aunts, Delores Galloway and Vivian Drum of Wartburg, TN, Stella Hedges, Michigan; uncles, Lawrence Atkins, Michigan and Lincoln Payne of Sunbright, TN. Many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive including one special cousin, Frank Kirby. Sisters in law and brothers in law, Betty and Bill Hicks of Michigan, Ruth and Jack Shamblin of Georgia, Bob and Nina McNabb, Haskel and Katherine McNabb, Jesse McNabb and Dot Dixon all of Cleveland. One special friend, Tience Hicks of Athens.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the neighbors, especially Jan and Tony, Dr. Krueger and staff and Oncology nurses at Skyridge Medical Center.

A Celebration of the Life of Neil Taylor will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain View Church of God with Rev. Fred Mercer, Senior Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Jason, Matt and Scott Thomas, Dennis and Daniel Cole, Robert Vann and Joey Freeman serving as pallbearers. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
