Nancey Maxine Wells Thompson, resident of Charleston, TN, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at her residence. She was a resident of Tennessee for the past 23 years and before that she resided in San Marcos, Texas. She was a member of the New Horizons Church in Charleston. She was formerly a member of the First Baptist Church in San Marcos. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed quilting, upholstery and custom drapery. She enjoyed camping and traveling as well. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Joseph L. Thompson and son, Alan D. Thompson, and parents, Raymond Wells and Ova Lee Moore Wells.
She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Joseph D. and Trish Thompson and Charles K. and Michelle Thompson; grandchildren, Sarah M. Chapa and husband Robert M. Chapa, Mary E. Thompson, Hannah K. Thompson, Dorothy J. Thompson, Rebekah F. Thompson and Noma G. Thompson; great grandchildren, Grace V. Chapa and Malachi Thompson; sisters in law, Joan and husband James Bradshaw and Betty and James Jones and brothers in law, Frank and Virginia Thompson and Bill and Penny Thompson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
