Michael Nathan Underwood, 35, of Cleveland, died peacefully in his sleep at home on Friday October 26, 2007.
Michael graduated in 1990 from Baylor School in Chattanooga. He attended Cleveland State Community College and UTC. He spent his life in the restaurant business working at Rocky Top Grill and Gradys in Chattanooga, but his most beloved place was Shoneys of Cleveland. He was a Chef and Kitchen Manager until his forced retirement last year due to illness.
He was the son of Christine and Richard Gallaher of Juneau AK, and Ken and Carol Underwood, of Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Lois and Nathan Underwood.
Surviving family includes: former spouse Star Underwood and son Logan King; partner Kellie Hipps; sister and brother-in law, Dede & Aaron Guffey; brother and partner, Scott Gallaher and Michael Myrick; step-sister Angie Layne and nephew Brandon Harold; grandparents Margaret and Reginald Witalis; aunts and uncles, Pete and Debbie Witalis, John and Teresa Witalis, Lynn and Stew Hall, Nancy and George Cairns; and several cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Grissom Funeral Home on Thursday, November 1st at 6 PM with Brad Benton officiating. The family will receive friends at 5pm, prior to the service.
