Joseph Jasper Watson, Sr.

Joe Watson, Sr., age 70, resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008, in a local hospital. He was a member of the Charleston United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a well known local businessman and was a retired grocer with Watson Supermarkets. He loved the outdoors and going fishing with his brother, Jack. He loved spending time with his two precious grandsons who affectionately called him, Poppa . He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. B. and Jabie Million Watson.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Judy Kile Watson, Cleveland, one son, Joe Watson, Jr. and his wife, Sydney, of Cleveland, two daughters, Jennifer Lea Watson, Cleveland, and Jody Lynn Watson Frost and her husband, Michael, Chickamauga, GA.; three brothers and their spouses, Jack and Susan Watson, Jerry and Iva Watson and John and Linda Watson all of Cleveland, TN; one sister and her husband, Charlotte Sis Watson Arnett and Burton of Pendleton, South Carolina. Two very special grandsons, Jamey Tallent, Jr. and Joseph Jackson Watson. Several nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.

Graveside services will be held Friday, June 6, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mike Cutshaw, Pastor of Charleston United Methodist Church, officiating. Military Honor Guard followed by a Trinity Dove Release ceremony will conclude the services at the graveside.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
