Melvina West

Melvina West, age 87, resident of McDonald, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, December 3, 2009. She passed away in a Cleveland health care facility. She was a lifelong resident of McDonald, TN and was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She loved quilt and work with her hands. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Mamie Carr Myers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bert West and one sister, Josephine Owenby.

She is survived by her loving son, Ronnie West; grandsons, Rodney West and Brent West and wife, Carla; sister, Margaret Brown and brother Robert (Bob) Myers and wife Dot; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 6, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Simmons and Rev. Jim Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Kenneth Roark, Bryan Roark, Rodney West, J. B. Cecil, Wayne Hindman and Bill Dundee serving as pallbearers.
