Mabel Sallis Whelan Godbout

Mabel Sallis Whelan Godbout, 85, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2007 in Denver, Colorado. She was originally from Bogalusa, Louisiana, but moved with her husband Wyman to Cleveland in 1953 for the Bowater Paper Corporation. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Wyman Whelan who died in 1964; second husband, Peter M. Godbout who died in 2001; parents, Melton and Susie B. Sallis; sister, Gladys Bond; and brothers, Jack Sallis and Earl Sallis.

Survivors include her children, Kay Hill, Wym Whelan, and Ann Whelan; stepchildren, Michael Godbout, and Louise Sullivan; grandchildren, Susan Finnell, Catherine Rakestraw, Jimmy Hill, Spencer Whelan, Chris Whelan and Peter Sullivan; and seven great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend J. Antonio Giraldo officiating.
