Frances M. Whittaker

Frances Mildred Whittaker, 86, passed away Monday, March 5, 2007 in a local hospital. She was a resident of Cleveland since 1993. She was a member of the Church of God and attended North Cleveland Church of God faithfully. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on November 21, 1920 and was the oldest of ten children. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Emitt Allen Whittaker who passed away in October 1973. Also preceding her in death were her dear parents, Rev. Harrison Hornsby and Mrs. Evalyn Hornsby; and six brothers.

She was a devoted mother to three surviving daughters, Delena Mae Marion and her husband Joe C. Marion, Jr., Lavonna Lynn Whittaker, and Evalyn Lee Wright and her husband Robert Lee Wright; four grandchildren, LaWanda Charlene Mendoza, Tami Lynn Marion, Staci Roxanne and Charles Michael Wright; two sisters, Fern Wilson and Paulette Loomis; one brother, Rodgers Hornsby; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Barnett and Rev. Wendell Smith officiating. Interment will be held in Miami, Florida.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
