Ruth Aleita Williams, age 78, resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2007, in a local nursing home. She was the daughter of the late J. O. and Lorene Childers. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, James. H. (Monk) Williams; son, Jackie L. Williams; brothers, Bobby and Junior Childers; sister, Doris Greene. She was lovingly known as Mimi to friends and family alike. She enjoyed her family and never tired of caring for them over the years. She and her husband were early catalyst for the Dixie Youth Baseball league at Clevelands (former) Fulbright Park. She was a charter member of Keith Street Church of God of Prophecy where she was an active member of the Senior Ladies prayer band and missionary band. She was also nominated as national representative for the PTA (Parent Teacher Assn.) and traveled as a representative to various national conventions. She was retired from American Uniform and Petyons Southeastern where she was dearly loved and remembered. She also enjoyed part time work at Jacks Kleen Rite and K-Mart of Cleveland.
She is survived by four sons and daughters in law, David and Kaye Williams, Steve Williams, Denny and Judi Williams, and Mark and Regina Williams all of Cleveland; one daughter, Terri Murray and husband Allen of Cleveland. One daughter in law, Debbie Williams, Cleveland; One sister, Sonja Waites and husband Larry of the Villages, Florida; nine grandchildren, LeeAnn (Dewayne) Lowe, Pam Knudsen, Justin Williams, Jack (Angie) Williams and Andy (Tammy) Williams, Chad (Pam) Williams, Kaylan Williams, Jamey (Audrey) Williams and Heather Murray. Ten great grandchildren, Ashley Glover, David Lowe, Samantha Knudsen, Pete and Noa Williams, Chloe and Olivia Williams and Breton, Cale and Paulina Williams. One great great granddaughter, Gracie Glover. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 26, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Keith Street Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Eugene Weakly and Pastor Gary Sears. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Garden with Dewayne Lowe, Jack Williams, Andy Williams, Justin Williams, Chad Williams, Jamey Williams, John Wilson and David Lowe serving as pallbearers. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
