Doug Williams

November 15, 1944 — February 5, 2009

Doug Williams, age 64, resident of Cleveland, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, February 5, 2009. He passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cleveland. He worked in engineering at T.V.A. Doug was an avid outdoorsman. Dougs greatest passion was fishing, and he enjoyed trolling the Tennessee River in the hunt for Ol Tobe , the biggest catfish in the river. He also enjoyed hunting and tending to his vegetable garden each summer. But Dougs greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, George Williams.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Williams, four daughters and sons in law, Holly and Mark Kesley, and Laura and Eric Mountain all of Cleveland and Tina and David McQueen, Boerne, Texas and Tonia and Greg Pearson, Pace, FL; one son and daughter in law, Danny and Stephanie Williams, Pace, Florida; 11 precious grandchildren, Jeremiah and Bridget Cross, Grant and Grayson McQueen, Mikaela, Morgan and Matthew Pearson, Dan and Kate Kesley and Emma and Luke Mountain; two great grandchildren; his mother, Daisy Williams, Slidell, Louisiana, three brothers and sisters in law, Fred Williams, Pensacola, FL, Wyatt and Sandy Williams, Slidell, Louisiana and Wayne and Lil Williams, Houston, TX; three sisters and brothers in law, Virginia and John David Allen, Jack, Alabama, Carolyn and Harvey Lott, Seymour, TN and June and Courtney Smith, Slidell, Louisiana. A close friend, Tim Bryant. Several nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Cleveland with Rev. Bill Griffith and Rev. Phil Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Darrell Widner, Mark Murphy, Tim Bryant, Ray Tucker, Steve Davis, Danny Lusk, Wade Miller and Richard Simms serving as pallbearers. Dougs Watts Bar Nuclear Plant co-workers will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 9, 2009, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the Grissom Funeral Home who has charge of funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.grissomfh.net
