Clarence C. Wilson, age 70, ascended to his Heavenly home on March 30, 2008. He left this world in the arms of his devoted wife of almost 50 years, Jean Green Wilson. He was surrounded by his much loved daughters, Patty Hape and Sherry Bailey, his sons in law, Mark Hape and Mark Bailey, grandchildren, Nick Hape, Megan Hape, Jordan Bailey, Brianne Bailey, Chris Bailey and his wife, Lacey. Clarence was born on July 11, 1937 to Clint and Irene Barndollar Wilson who welcomed him into life eternal along with his brothers, Joe, Gene and Leslie Wilson and one sister, Ruth Mantooth and brother in law, Roy Mantooth.

He left behind sisters, Mary and husband, Ernest Evans, (his fishing buddies), Martha and husband, Bill Brown, Naomi Mantooth, brother Fred and his wife, Mildred Wilson. Two brothers in law and spouses; Wesley and Jane Green and Verlin Dee and Louise Green; two sisters in law and spouses, Linda Bowman Lawhorn and Ken and Shirley Cecil and Pete. He also left behind a very special dog, Penny.

In his lifetime, Clarence has worn many hats. He was a policeman, a constable, a wonderful craftsman, a business owner and an avid fisherman. The most important job he had was being a devoted husband, caring father and proud grandfather. His family was his life. He reveled in their accomplishments, his heart ached with their disappointments, he lovedand he was loved. Solace can be taken in his last words, Jesus has come to get me . We will see you again.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Beaty and Rev. Jim Parm officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Scotty Wilson, Kenzel Wilson, Rick Cutter Mantooth, Ernie Bowman, J. C. Bowman and Chris Cecil serving as pallbearers.

Due to the medical expenses from Clarences extended illness, the family requests donations be made to the Clarence Wilson Memorial Fund c/o Grissom Funeral Home 3010 N. Ocoee St. Cleveland, TN 37312.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 1, 2008, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Grissom Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.grissomfh.net
