Thomas Lee Rhodes

Thomas Lee Rhodes, 62, a resident of Cleveland, passed away at his residence Friday, January 14, 2011. He was retired from Bowater. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of VFW Post 2598, American Legion Post 81, and Amvets Post 13. He received the Combat Infantry Badge, and several Vietnam service medals, including the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, a Bronze Star for Valor, and the ARCOM Meritorious Service Medal. He was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Clyde and Sara Frances Falls Rhodes; one brother, James Clyde Rhodes, Jr.; and two sisters, Linda Rhodes and Peggy Strickland. He is survived by his wife, Linda Rhodes; one daughter, Treena Diane Dolence of Cleveland; one grandchild, Megan Elizabeth Teeter; and one sister, Kathleen Holsomback of Clinton, SC. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011, in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Sammy Hooker. Interment will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at Fort Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011, prior to the service at the funeral home.
