Terry E. Munn, age 85, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011 in a local hospital. He was born in Birmingham, AL to the late Edwin and Bertha Ellis Munn and grew up in Oneonta, AL. He moved to Cleveland in 1965 from Charleston where he had been employed with the Naval Ship Yard; and he retired locally from Byrd's Electric Motor Service. Terry was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II. He was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God, the Unity Sunday School Class and Peacemakers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, Emma Lou Phillips, Lafoyle Munn, and Peggy Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Betty Stepp Munn of Cleveland; two sons, Don Munn and wife Linda, of Cumming, GA and Chris Munn of Roswell, GA; two grandchildren, Donita Walker and husband Marc, and Nathan Munn and wife Stephanie, all of Canton, GA; four great grandchildren, Alexis Walker, Ansley Walker, Mason Munn and Carter Munn; and special friends Carl and Barbara Mills and Wilma Jordan. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at North Cleveland Church of God in the Dixon Chapel with Rev. Travis Porter, Don Munn and Pastor Mitch Maloney officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Unity Sunday School Class. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home and Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at North Cleveland Church of God Dixon Chapel prior to the service.
