Thomas Wayne Arrants

Thomas Wayne Arrants III, 61, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011. He was a lifelong member of Broad Street United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 17 years, Peggy Turner Arrants and his father Thomas W. Arrants. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Elsie Legarde Arrants; his brother, Charles and his wife, Dr. Linda Hayles; nephew, Jonathan Arrants; and his many wonderful cousins and kin and close friends. Born February 16, 1949 and until his passing, he lived in and loved Cleveland. He was a member of both the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts at Broad Street, served in the Army Reserve and was one of the original graduating class at Cleveland High School "Class of 67". He was a member of the, soon to be, State Champion Cleveland High School Blue Raider football team. Tom attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, became active in Kappa Alpha Fraternity and worked until retirement at Olin Chemical Corporation in Charleston, TN. He was also a member of the Elks Club. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Broad Street United Methodist Church with Pastors Reed Shell and Debbie Stokes officiating. Interment will be held privately. The family will receive friends Monday from 1-2 p.m. in the Narthex at Broad Street United Methodist Church. Grissom Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
