Our beloved Kathy was born Kathy Jean Lanier in Washington, North Carolina on April 19, 1962 to Bishop Paul and Shirley Lanier. She was the second of four children that includes, Drs. Paul and Debbie Lanier (Winston Salem, NC), Dr. Timothy and Susie Lanier (Huntsville, AL) and Reverend and Mrs. Tim and Connie Toler (Sykesville, MD). Her life always involved music and from a very early age she sang with her brothers and parents and played piano and organ in her father's churches. She married William E. (Bill) Isaacs on June 24, 1978 in Sanford, NC. Two wonderful sons, Jeremy and wife Corrie (Canton, GA); Jason and wife Andrea (Louisville, KY) and grandchildren Cooper David (age 6), Branson Christopher (age 4), Sadie Hope (age 2), Tucker Jonathan (age 1) and Kinley Grace (due July 8, 2011) provided much joy. Kathy was a pastor's wife, Women's Ministries President and worship leader in High Point, NC. She was Girls Club Coordinator and secretary to Women's Ministries in Eastern North Carolina, Kentucky, Alabama, Tennessee and North Georgia. She served as Women's Ministries President in Louisiana and Ohio. Kathy believed the Scriptural teaching that women should teach younger women how to be disciples, and some of her most fulfilling relationships came from her formal and informal mentoring opportunities. For our family, Kathy lives on through those she loved and who loved her, and in the example of faith and courage she provided. We have personal sadness at her passing but we have great peace in knowing she belonged to the Lord and we will see her in eternity. Funeral services will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at North Cleveland Church of God in the main sanctuary with Dr. Raymond Culpepper, Dr. Paul F. Lanier, Rev. Jason Issacs, Rev. Jeremy Isaacs, and Rev. Bill Isaacs officiating. Interment will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 - 6:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making contributions in Kathy's name to either The Kathy Isaacs Music Scholarship Fund, in care of Lee University, Central Gifts, P. O. Box 3450, Cleveland, TN 37320, or to Peniel Ministries, ATTN: Kathy Isaacs Fund, P. O. Box 250, Johnstown, PA 15907. The family believes Kathy's passion for ministry can become a legacy to other young men and women as they pursue their God calling through their education at Lee University. Contributions made to this fund will provide scholarships to worthy students from the homes of bi-vocational pastors and missionaries. The work of Drs. Harold and Marion Spellman and the staff at Peniel has always been dear to the heart of Kathy and in conjunction with Peniel Ministries, a special fund has been established to allow for the continued vision of theirs to rescue those trapped in lives of addiction and pain. On behalf of myself, Jeremy, Jason, Corrie, Andrea, Cooper, Branson, Sadie, Tucker and Kinley, we thank you for caring about our family and helping to extend the influence of our beloved Kathy to the generations to come! ~Bill Isaacs Grissom Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
