Vila Davis Standridge

February 18, 1926 — March 19, 2011

Vila Davis Standridge, 85, a life time resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the family residence. She was a member of Southview Baptist Church . She was an avid gardener, quilter, camper and loved singing in church. Mrs. Standridge was the daughter of the late Clifford and Rosa Mae Davis and was also preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Alfred L. Standridge; grandson, David Leonard; brothers, J.D., L.T., Colverd (C.E.) Davis; sister, Jewell Taylor. She is survived by her children: Wendell Wayne Standridge, Regina L. Pearson and husband, James Pearson, Quintus Standridge and wife Cathy Standridge; brother, Earnest (Guy) Davis; grandchildren, Kelly Pearson, Amy Leonard, Dewayne Woods, Donna and husband Dale Lawhorne, Kit and wife Myria Peek; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Caleb Pearson, Ivy and Davon Leonard, Chelsea Spivey, Crimson Quinn and Piper Peek; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with Tommy Jenkins and Dale Lawhorne officiating. Interment will follow in Brock Cemetery in Polk County. Kenneth Bell, Steven Bell, Ralph Trent, Tommy Bunch, Jim Gibson and Gary Goins will serve as pallbearers.
