Rickey E. Hamby

Rickey Hamby, 43, a resident of Benton, TN, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a former truck driver with Swing Transportation. Survivors include his wife, Melanie Hamby of Benton; two sons, Richard Thomas Hamby (Keisha) of Polk County, and William Davis of Fannin County, Georgia; one daughter, Tiffany Hamby of Ocoee, TN; mother, Mary Stewart Harris of Gastonia, NC; sister, Yvonne Farmer of Gastonia, NC; and special cousin, Rita Worthy. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Bear Paw Baptist Church in Cherokee County, NC with Pastor Steve Ware and Rev. Paul White officiating. Interment will follow in Bear Paw Cemetery with Avery Worthy, Scotty Bowman, Melvin Davis, James Townsend, Dude Seay and Tiffany Hamby serving as pallbearers.
