Jessie A. Oliver

Jessie A. Oliver, age 63, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 in a local hospital. He was born July 15, 1947 in Russellville, Alabama to the late Floyd B. and Lillie Broderick Oliver. Jessie was of the Baptist faith and was an avid fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Neil Oliver. Survivors include his former wife, Janet Oliver; four daughters, Wendy Howard (Jason), Charlotte Mashell Oliver (Travis Chapman), Amanda Oliver Tigue (Brian), and Gina Oliver; brother Zollie Oliver (Susan); three sisters, Nancy Howard (Ronald), Delorise Beck (Terry), and Ruth DeVaughn (Andy); sister in law, Barbara Gates; grandchildren, Fancy and Brandon Layne, Caley Oliver Chapman, Timothy Oliver Chapman, Alea Blair Chapman, Alley Oliver, Jaclynn Anderson, Brian Tigue, Jr.; one great grandchild, Toby Zane Whaley; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Greg McFarland. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Rester officiating. Interment will be held Wednesday at 12 noon at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
