Gloria Jean Faley, age 66, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 in a Chattanooga hospital after a long battle with brain cancer. Gloria was born August 17, 1944 in Fayette, Alabama to the late "Pot" and Maulean Meherg. Gloria moved to Cleveland, Tennessee shortly after high school. She worked for the Cleveland Schools in food services for 28 years. On June 4, 2001 she married Robert (Bob) Faley in Ringgold, Georgia. She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Faley of Cleveland; two sons, Andrew Wyatt and Jeremy Wyatt, both of Cleveland; one daughter, Jamie (Jimmy) Speigle of Jasper, Alabama; two stepsons, Todd (Teri Schmidt) Faley and Jeffrey (Sara) Faley, both of Dixon, Illinois; one stepdaughter-in-law, Gwen Faley of Dixon, Illinois; three grandchildren, Jacob Wyatt of Jasper, Alabama, Clay Wyatt and Tyler Wyatt, both of Cleveland; four step grandchildren, Kayla Faley, Alec Faley, Carson Faley, and Avery Faley, all of Dixon, Illinois; one sister, Rachel (Dell) Murphy, of Theodore, Alabama; one brother, James (Libby) Meherg of Decatur, Alabama; brother and sister in law, Ray and June Jones of Dixon, Illinois; many nephews and nieces; as well as friends too numerous to mention. A Graveside Prayer Service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dell Murphy officiating. Per Gloria's request, there will be no visitation. The family requests that memorials be made to the Erlanger Cancer Research Center. Grissom Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
