Nancy Helton

Nancy Gail Thomas Helton, age 70, a resident of Calhoun, TN and formerly of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday evening, June 28, 2011 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a daughter of the late Maynard and Elsie Thomas. She retired from Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company after twenty years. She was a member of Lakeview Church of God. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved cooking and caring for everyone and lived for family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, John D. Helton and brother, Danny Ray Thomas. Survivors include her husband, Ray P. Helton; sons, Ricky Hall (Rhonda), Tim Hall, Jeff Hall, Scott Hall (Jennifer), Jeff Helton (Lora), and Cody Helton; daughters, April Helton and Patrisha Helton; ten grandchildren, Ashley Hall Croomes, Brandon Hall, Tyler Hall, Aleigha Hall, Mackenzie Hall, Madison Hall, Josh Helton, Sarah Helton, Jacob Helton, and Jonathan Helton; three great grandchildren, Brody Croomes, Bryor Croomes, and Ian Harris; four sisters, Carolyn Andrews, Barbara Goins, Phyllis Castello, Vickie Baker; two brothers, Maynard Thomas and Eddie Thomas; several nieces and nephews; and life-long friend Brenda Williams. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Dustin Wiles and Jeff Helton officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Calhoun, TN with Mark Andrews, Corbin Croomes, Donnie Mattilla, Stacy Thomas, Richard Thomas, Larry Thomas, Tony Goins and Eric Harris serving as pallbearers.
