Elizabeth Davis

Elizabeth L. Davis, age 79, a resident of Old Fort, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in a local hospital. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and retired after 30 years of service to South Central Bell. She enjoyed living on the family farm and enjoyed communicating on the telephone daily with her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon Lee Davis and Janie McCurry Davis and one brother, Eldon Lee Davis, Jr. Survivors include two brothers, Ben Davis of Cleveland and Bill Davis (Linda) of Old Fort; three sisters, Tennie Boone Hilton of Wrightsville Beach, NC, Loretta Sneed (Guy) of Brentwood, TN, and Linda Coley (Jimmy) of Lilburn, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Cliff Hudson officiating. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-9 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home.
