Rosalie B. Alonzo

Rosalie B. Alonzo, age 71, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at her residence. Ro was a paralegal secretary for many years in Chicago, IL and then relocated to Houston, TX and started a career in the real-estate business of which she continued to pursue when she relocated to Cleveland ten years ago. Locally, she was affiliated with Crye-Like Realtors. She excelled in short hand writing and was fluent in English and Spanish. She was an avid bird enthusiast and always kept several parakeets as pets. She also enjoyed sight-seeing tours with the Senior Circles group, attending YMCA activities and attending educational seminars. She was a member of St. Therese Church of Lisieux of Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isabel Nunez Alonzo and Jesse Alonzo; and brothers, Peter and Raymond Alonzo. Survivors include five sisters, Elizabeth Scarp of Canton, Ohio, Mary Guzman of Sugarland, Texas, Josephine Young of British Columbia, Canada, Jennie Kielmenski of The Villages, Florida, Helen C. Hardison of Cleveland; and one brother, Anthony Alonzo of Dayton, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Moser officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Following the interment, a luncheon will be provided by the Ladies of St. Therese in the Trinity Room.
